This unit explored the different characteristics of what makes a good learner and a good teacher. I gave some examples of different teaching techniques and teacher roles: for example assessor, prompter, monitor and observer. It was useful to understand the different roles that teachers have in the class room. The unit also stated what makes learners different such as, motivation, nervousness and cultural background. It is important to take these things into consideration when teaching a class. Finally I found it helpful that the unit broke down an individuals language level into six categories so that it is easier to assess a students language level.
