In this unit, I have learned about evaluating and testing students. Evaluation of students is usually done to assess a student's language level through tutorials, evaluation by the students and tests. Tutorials can be done as a whole group or as individuals by reviewing work done, discussing the aims of the lessons, how well the students perform the tasks and whether there are any problems. Evaluation by students is done either through a questionnaire or guided discussion, in English or in the student's mother tongue. Tests are given at different stages in the course. These include placement tests, Diagnostic tests, progress tests and practice tests.
