Unit 12 talks of teaching productive skills, which are speaking and writing. it brings out a number of speaking activities in the classroom which are controlled activities, guided activities and creative communication. it goes on to point out some reasons why students are discouraged to speak in class and the necessary techniques to encourage students interaction in a classroom. it also gives the guidelines for creative speaking before, during and after a lesson. What l have learnt from this lesson is that speaking and writing (including games are substantially differrent in many ways, but are both used for the same purpose which is for communication.
