After I've learnt the material from Unit 4 about The Present Tenses I can say for myself that \"yes\"- it is important not just to learn and memorize all the rules and grammar about tenses but also it is important to feel and understand what excactly you want to speak about so you can chose the right tense to use. And also I feel that when you teach students about tenses you need to give them more opportunity to use them during the lesson so they can practice this knowledge and to realize that even if there are 12 different tenses in English it's absolutely possible to know them and to use them in your speech and make it more interesting and colorful.
