This unit taught me a lot about different teaching styles and ways to engage the students effectively while keeping them entertained. I liked the breakdown of the engage, study, activate concept and how this helps to teach the lesson to the students and have them put it to use in an activity. The ample ideas for the 'engage' phase of the lesson were really helpful - particularly fizz-buzz and slow pictionary which seem to be great ways of engaging the students. Clarifying when and how to correct students was very informative as well - it's important to let them figure out their own mistakes so that they can learn what they need to adjust on their own.
