Unit four presented information regarding creating a lesson plan, the different kinds of materials available, and managing a classroom. Creating a lesson plan is important because it acts as a flexible guide to ensure an organized lesson, and provides a possible substitute teacher with a guide for the lesson. One can use authentic or non-authentic materials in the classroom, and they each present their own advantages and disadvantages. Authentic materials can be more interesting, but they are not created with language levels in mind. Non-authentic materials are created with a specific language point in mind, but can be repetitive if used all the time.
