Unit 9 discusses why it is advisable for the teacher to write a lesson plan and what should be included in the plan to serve as a record of what the students are expected to learn by the end of the lesson and how the teacher will go about effecting the objective of the lesson plan. Unit 9 also points out that the lesson plan is an aid to help the teacher stay on track as well as something to refer to during the lesson. Also, the lesson plan serves as a record as to what the class has done and the materials covered and basic principles of lesson planning which includes, among other things, keep the lesson plan simple, flexible and open to adaptation.
