The 6th unit in this TEFL course explained about four past tenses: past simple, past progressive, past perfect, and pas perfect progressive. It covered the forms (positive, negative, question), usage, sentence example, and common mistakes for each of the tenses. Students have to be aware in using verbs in simple past tense because there are irregular verbs that could not be easily explained - they just have to memorize them and use them more of often in order to remember the changes. The sample teaching ideas for every tenses were really helpful for me because sometimes it gets difficult to teach the different usages of each tenses to younger students.
