This unit teaches about classroom management. It starts by explaining the relevance of the teacher and how they can use eye contact, voice, and gestures to create a positive and effective learning environment. It then presents the advantages and disadvantages of different student grouping configurations such as whole-class, in pairs, in groups, and individually, as well as, of the various classroom seating arrangements which include traditional rows, horseshoes, and individual desks. It concludes by giving possible reasons for students exhibiting problem behaviors and the steps a teacher needs to take to prevent them from either occurring or escalating.
