Teach English in Mulan Zhen - Ha'erbin Shi — Harbin
In this unit I learned about modal auxiliary verbs, phrasal verbs, relative clauses, and passive voice vs. active voice. Modal auxiliary verbs are used to add meaning to a verb. Two possible meanings are an obligation, or advice. phrasal verbs are verbs with one or two particles that operate as one. A relative clause comes in two forms, defining or non-defining. A defining relative clause adds essential information for a sentence to be fully understood. A non-defining one adds unessential information. The passive voice is when subject of as sentence is not the person performing an action, but what the person, place, or thing that is being acted upon.
