This section differentiated between effective and ineffective teaching techniques, using two videos in conjunction with one another in order to underscore teacher behaviors and responses. The better teaching style involved gestures, facial expression, praise, careful explanation, examples, and allowing students to work in pairs. The teacher also made an effort to learn the students' names and call on each one in order to promote learning by every student. The videos suggest that the teacher's manner and technique will drastically change the teaching environment, the level of engagement of the students, and the degree to which the language is apprehended.
