This unit was helpful because the plan helped to solicit to students through the use of a video or a news article. It's important that the content is interesting to the student because otherwise the students won't fully grasp the vocabulary, grammar, etc. of the new language. The content is important, yes, however letting the students confidently understand and interpret this new language. Discussion based activities help engage all of the students. I was a shy student and never wanted to speak up in class because I was afraid I would say something wrong, so pair work and friendly class discussion is helpful to the students who might not be as confident.
