A good teacher cares about her teaching and her students. She must possess good subject knowledge to be an effective manager (in explaining concepts), assessor (grading, giving feedback), model (in pronunciation and usage) and resource (fount of all knowledge). She must be patient and kind to correct without offending, to render help to a weak student (a tutor) and provide suggestions when necessary (a prompter). Young learners and adults are different in terms of age, motivation, experience and behavior. A good teacher will make her classes varied and interesting in order to motivate them, establish rapport and build confidence toward success in them.
