While speaking is an important part of learning a new language, writing is equally as important. In the accuracy and fluency, being able to speak clearly and correctly is important - knowing all of the grammar points. However, without being able to put everything together in a cohesive manner and being able to speak about normal things is completely different. Yes, it's important to teach the grammar, but it's equally as important to develop fluency. This can be improved through pair work or friendly class discussions. Like in all situations, the students will be more willing to speak when they are speaking in a friendly environment with little pressure.
