While I was familiar with much of the material in this unit based on previous courses, I thought the note on authentic vs. non-authentic materials as they relate to young learners was interesting. For young learners, the line between the two types of sources may be a bit blurred. For example, a TV program would be considered authentic - yet there are children's educational TV programs that are made with an English-speaking audience of children in mind, but may teach letters, vocabulary, etc. The same could be said of some children's toys, games, etc. That hadn't occurred to me but it's an important consideration when choosing materials for young learners.
