This unit was about teaching pronunciation and phonology. Phonology is the study and classification of the physical properties of sounds. This lesson focused on intonation, stress and pronunciation. This unit was difficult for myself - a native English speaker - to understand therefore I can imagine that it would be quite difficult for students learning English as a second language. When teaching pronunciation some activities and techniques that work well are over-emphasizing parts of a word so that students are able to see exactly what your mouth is doing. Tongue twisters are another fun and useful ways that students can practice their pronunciation.
