This unit was about reading and listening skills. In this unit, I learned that authentic materials, rather than non-authentic materials, give the students more confidence in their skills. I expected the opposite because the non-authentic materials are tailored to the students' skill levels, and they would likely understand more grammar and vocabulary. This point was very shocking and interesting for me. This unit also reminded me to have the students practice different skills in lessons. I have a bad habit of focusing on maybe two skills per lesson because lessons are so short. I have to keep in mind that it's necessary to maintain balance in every lesson.
