Teach English in YangchAng Zhen - Guiyang Shi
So far, I feel as if this unit was the most challenging and the most helpful. The vary focuses of the different methodologies presented gave quite a bit of insight on all the ways a student can benefit from said methods. I found the ESA approach especially fascinating with a lot of potential for both fun and learning in a classroom setting. I enjoyed how the focus shifts through each stage which can allow for a more engaged student. I was excited when learning about the engage stage in particular as there are ample opportunities to get student excited about learning. I believe that if a student feels engaged, they will be more receptive to the information presented in the study phase. Another part I found interesting was finding a balance between praise and correction and the positive effect praise can have on a student. I think it will be challenging to find the correct balance but nonetheless, I am excited about finding it. I also really like the use of codes in the margin when correcting writing and giving the student the opportunity to explore their mistakes.
