Learning a language is not only learning it as a subject,and use it only in the test.More importantly,it is a tool for communication. When teaching the two productive skills in English,I?ve always found that speaking is really hard to teach,you might not see much achievement in a very long time like 2 or 3 years.The reason why that happens I assume it is the environment.As they have not much exposure to the language in a non-English speaking environment. Well,no matter speaking or writing teaching,we do need to spend some time designing and planning our class activities effectively.In addition,reading is of great help to improve these skills as well I think.So we also need to integrate many things together to help the students to learn and improve their abilities. As for writing,I insist that the learners should have a certain amount of basis and then get on with it,they will find more fun and confidence then.For the beginners maybe start from listening and reading more,and gradually they?ll get their with the teacher?s guidance and instruction.
