This unit was about speaking and writing. I think that practicing speaking is very important when learning a language. The more you try and speak the language, the more comfortable you become. For me, speaking was always the hardest part in learning a new language because I was afraid that I would make a mistake. I think that will actually help me in the future because I will be able to understand the students with that same worry better. I really enjoyed the writing section of the lesson. It gave me some ideas for future activities and such that I can do with my students. I also really like the idea of games in the classroom. I always enjoyed doing small group games in my language classes. It was less intimidating that way especially when the games involved a lot of speaking. Many times we were allowed to group up with whomever we wanted, so usually it would be groups of friends. I understand that this can lead to problems in the class though. I will have to monitor and make sure that if the students are with friends, they are still doing what is required of them.
