This unit taught about the productive skills of speaking and writing. For speaking, it covered accuracy vs. fluency, speaking activities, how to encourage students to speak, included an example lesson, and it offered guidelines for creative speaking activities. For writing it covered the importance of handwriting, spelling, and punctuation, and creative writing with an example writing lesson. The last the thing was a short introduction to games in the classroom. I learned the importance of picking your activities to match your objective and the phone of the lesson that you are in. I love the example lessons because they give me a clear idea of what it could look like. I specifically liked the writing cartoon strip idea. I learned how to prepare for and deliver a good creative speaking lesson by making sure to plan ahead so that during the activity I will be ready for whatever happens. I also learned that wether it's a listening or writing activity, I need to make sure it's something students are engaged in and interested in in order to illicit their participation.
