There are five grammar conditionals: 1. Zero conditional 2.First conditional 3. Second conditional 4. Third conditional 5. Mixed conditional The zero conditional is used for actions and facts. The first conditional is used for real or possible situations. The second conditional is used for unreal, hypothetical situations. The third conditional is used for hypothetical past actions. The mixed conditional is the second and third conditional combined. Direct speech is the exact words spoken, always written between quotations. Reported speech is telling someone about the direct speech. Reported speech is never written with quotation marks. In reported speech the tense usually changes when the reporter uses a verb in the past for example- said, tod, asked, etc. When the direct speech uses the past tense, no change is made in the reported speech. When direct speech is changed into reported speech for questions, asked is used instead of said. The question word remains but the verb changes into the positive form, if there is no question word, if or whether must be used.
