This unit discusses of productive skills: writing and speaking, which are used for the same purpose-to communicate. Writing skills are often ignored in a classroom setting compared to speaking because the main focus to teach is mostly getting the students to understand the context by speaking and listening. Writing is mostly done for certain assignments, but mostly during a homework setting. This unit also discusses effectiveness in certain activities for accuracy versus fluency, which are both equally important. I feel to get everyone to speak fluently the best activity would be to choose a fun, natural level topic, and in a group work either doing a simulation or a role playing. This way it will encourage the students to have fun talking in English over a given topic, rather than having a selective few talk. Games are an effective way to get the students to engage in the lesson; however, it must be moderately used. Having too much games in the lesson plan would make the teacher not get the attention of the students and therefore the classroom will be very hectic.
