Unit 9 is focused on how a lesson plan should be created. Firstly, it states that a lesson plan must be a tool to support the teacher?s activities in a flexible and balanced way. It also provides an overview of the lesson?s needed material and what is general aim of the lessons as well as where students might have some difficulties. It is, therefore, a way to create a logical correlation among the different activities whose purpose is to reinforce the learning process. A clear lesson plan helps for future/cover teachers to understand what has been done before and in which way. Another important tool is a self-evaluation form which allows the teacher to monitor the lessons with its strengths and weaknesses. It supports the teacher?s review process and creates good room for improvements. In case of sequences of lessons, the teacher might be willing to create a logical and learning path to be followed. In this situation, identifying short and medium term goals is a first starting point while flexibility must be taken into account to consider sudden changes.
