This unit is all about presenting course books and lesson materials that facilitates teachers work in class. This material can be divided into two groups. Authentic materials and created materials. Authentic material is about anything a native speaker would hear or read such as magazines, newspapers, songs, poems, brochures, menus the least is endless. The authentic materials has some uses such as interesting and motivating, student gain confidence when they understand them, they can be geared to interest of a particular group of students. Meanwhile created materials are on the other hand designed by the teacher to replace materials from a course book including: word search puzzle, crosswords, role play cards, Flashcards, Gap fill activities, picture stories. This unit further examines the advantages and disadvantages of course books. The important elements to put into consideration when using a course book. Also four different options for the course book use such as: omit, Replace, supplement, adapt and how to analyze a course book which is of great benefit to me.
