This unit describes the future tense, considered to be one of the most complex areas of the English language. The future tenses are future simple, future continuous, future perfect, future perfect continuous, be going + infinitive 'going to' future, present simple and present continuous.The structure and usages for each tense are described, common student mistakes with use of tense are explained, along with teaching ideas/activities for the tense. The most helpful aspect I learned were the tips for successfully identifying the tense of a sentence. Focus needs to be on the structure rather than its usage as the structure dictates the tense used. This concept is also useful when creating a sentences. Analyse form before looking at usage when identifying tense. If you are able to identify the usage for that sentence, good chance you'll be correct with tense identification. Most effective activate stage activities maximize student talk time, enable students to use language freely in open ended way to maximize fluency, they focus on target language and are not worksheet based.
