This unit covered Teaching Themes. First, this unit explained the benefits of Music and Games for a classroom. Music is a great resource for young learners because it is both active and of interest to students. Likewise games add a level of excitement and energy to the classroom bringing out a natural competitive spirit in youths. Second, this unit explained how arts, crafts, and stories can be used in a classroom. Stories can be very useful when the goal of the lesson is to improve the students vocabulary. Arts and crafts are likewise very useful in getting and keeping children's attention while also allowing them a constructive outlet for their energy. Third, this unit examined seasonal activities benefits in regard to teaching. In conclusion, I have learned that there are many different ways to keep the students attention focused on the lesson being taught without using a lecture format. I have also learned that it is important to reinforce the teaching point with actions for young learners, whether it is a game they play, actions to a song, or whole class sing-a-longs.
