This unit focused on the various methods of classroom management from the use of eye contact/gestures/voice to classroom setup to student discipline. Although I found this to be a good overview of the topic I think it's a little strange to put it immediately after the Present Tense unit. I had expected it to be followed by another grammar-heavy lesson. Nonetheless, this is all important introductory information into basic classroom management. One thing that I found interesting is that the lesson did not touch at all upon the possibility of mentally ill or physically disabled students and how their presence might create extra needs within the classroom (for example within the classroom setup section or within the discipline section). Although I understand that the TEFL doesn't directly deal with students with disabilities I believe it would still be useful to mention that one OTHER problem for student behavior might stem from poor management of a mental illness or the stress of a mismatch of learning styles. From my personal experience, many behavioral problems also arise from the inability to engage with the material in a comfortable manner. For example, a student who learns visually might be suffering from lack of visual aids in the classroom and so forth.
