Troubleshooting looks at possible solutions that may arise during the class. For the first lessons it may be better to not use the book and to use activities that will establish rapport with the students, discover interests, and learn the level of the class to make future classes easier. It is really important to have warm ups for classes instead of jumping into a new grammar point, since warm ups lets the student ease into thinking and speaking in English. Some students may be at different levels, breaking the class into groups or giving stronger students different tasks could help manage the various levels of the students better. Large classes can be difficult, but handouts and pair work can be done to help with the large numbers. If possible refrain from using the native language, and encourage students to communicate with you and classmates in English. Give reluctant students some space to practice English by giving you writing and recorder work until they are ready to talk in class. With listening activities teach some of the difficult words and grammar first before listening to give the students the tools they need to succeed. Thinking of possible problems and how to deal with them if they come up can help oneself to prepare successful and fun classes.
