\" The black cat sat on the mat.\" This sentence consists of a number of words, each of which plays a role in the sentence and can be classified. I can truly tell you that after reading through the entire lesson when I went back to the first page and reread that sentence it made more sense to me how each of those words can be broken down and how each of those words fall into a different category. The different categories make up the parts of speech and there's so many parts of speech and it's so much information to take in that at first it doesn't make any sense, you truly have to use multiple examples and use different types of sentences and the content of which were using that sentence is all depends on the part of speech (confusing I know) but somehow it all makes sense and then you see how it all ties into each other but at the same time there's still so much you have to learn. Learning the different classifications of each word and how it makes a sentence you never realize how much detail goes into a sentence that we form to create conversation. I think it will be very interesting to teach someone the different parts of speech. I look forward to doing sentence building exercises and reflecting on what part of the speech each word falls under.
