This unit addressed problems that might be faced in the classroom. It talked about our first class, warm up activities, students who are on different levels, large class sizes, students using their native languages, reluctant students, and students who have difficulties with listening activities. I learned that it's important to establish rapport between myself and the students and also between the students. Warmers should be fun, get students to open up, short, and engaging. When students are on different levels there's multiple approaches that should be used in combination to meet the needs of all the students in the class. When dealing with large classes it's important to make sure everyone can clearly hear you and see any boards or visual that you are using. Though there are some situations that native language can be used, it should be discouraged. It's important to make sure students have the necessary language skills for the task we are asking them to do. Be patience with reluctant students and allow them time to practice, work with others, role-play, and even bring in recordings for you to check. If students struggle with listening texts, it's important not to avoid them but to equid the students with the necessary skills or language to understand it.
