This unit examine receptive skills- reading and listening. It said that this unit is the shortest unit in this book but one of the most important unit. Receptive skills are those skills in which students receive language. Those skills are; reading and listening. It said motives for reading and listening are because it will help leaner achieve some specific aim or goal and because learner find it pleasurable through this. There are some kinds of skills to read and listen; predictive skills for instance expecting the content of an article from a headline and specific information, general idea not focusing on every single word but trying to get general information. Learner would face language problems in their listening and reading included in text so this unit introduce way for teacher to approach language difficulty; pre-teaching vocabulary which should help to remove what students are likely to face and what teacher need to be aware of is selecting texts carefully and offering comprehension tasks that support understanding The followings are basic tips to be successful receptive skills. 1.
