There are sometimes more specific groups of students which require a more specialised forms of teaching. When teaching beginners teachers need to be mindful of not trying to do too much too quickly. If material can not be covered in the allocated time, it should be saved for next time or used for revision purposes. Teachers also need to be mindful of students motivation. There is a need to be sensitive to students need, do not over correct students, praise and encourage and create a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. Another type of specialised group includes one to one teaching. There has been an increase in demand for this type of teaching especially in the business world. This is because given the nature of one to one teaching, teachers can specifically tailor the lesson plan to suit students needs. Teaching children can be most rewarding but also comes with its set of challenges. Children have a much shorter attention span to adults. It is also more likely that with children, teachers can come across discipline and management issues. The attitude and discipline of the teacher in this regard is seen as a major factor. When teaching ESP groups it is important for teachers to adapt to students needs and understand that they are still essentially there to teach English.
