This unit was really interesting because it focused on the two main protagonists of a lesson: teacher and learner. On one hand, teachers have the important role of \"transferring\" information to learners and on the other hand, learners have to \"take\" and acquire this information. In order to make this \"passage\" easy and fluid, a good teacher has to know very well the subject, but at the same time has to be capable of getting learners involved in the lesson, allowing them to acquire without pressure or worry to failure. Of course learners can have different ages and, from this, also different motivations to learn a L2. The younger they are, the easier for them it will be to learn a new language. Young learners have an open-minded approach to new learning experiences; adults have probably more motivation because they made their own decision to attend classes (while young learners aged 13-18 didn't). So the main point is that the relationship between teacher and learner is complicated and in order to have a successful lesson (with students involved and enthusiastic and willing to learn) we should have a sensitive, understanding and caring teacher and at the same time learners ready to accept the error correction and open to learn a new language (or any other subject).
