In unit fifteen I reviewed information about evaluation. There are several types of tests teacher can do with the students. First of all before course starting a student should take placement test in order to determine student?s English language level and his/her motivation for coming to a school. After placement test students with the same level can be combined together. The next test is diagnostic test. This type of test is conducted by the school in the beginning of a year (or first lesson). Diagnostic test can help teacher to prepare for lessons on the future better. Now teacher knows what his/her students English level is, but it does not mean that teacher should stop evaluating. From now on teacher should provide regular progress tests in order to check what students understood from the unit, maybe some topics and grammar skills are too difficult for students so teacher should practice it again providing extra material. When student is confident in his/her English language he/she can take external test. For practicing before original test teacher used practice one which has the same structure as original test. There are several types of external tests, certificates can be used for moving to another country or for getting scholarship in English speaking country.
