Conditionals are settings containing ?if? clauses and main clauses. ?If? clauses refer to past, present, or future possibilities and are perquisite conditions for the main clause to exist. For example, ?If I go to my room, I will play video games? shows that the person that said it will play video games if he is in his room. The main clause in that case would be playing video games. There are five total conditionals that are used to express various scenarios. The zero conditional refers to irrefutable facts and actions, the first refers guessing a real scenario based off some condition, the second refers to some unrealistic future consequence based off a hypothetical situation, the third refers to hypothetical pasts that would result in some hypothetical past consequence, and the mixed conditional mixes a combination of the aforementioned ones. Direct speech is anything that is presently said in a conversation. When someone asks to recap what someone else had said, someone would reply to that person with reported speech. This material can be a bit tricky since reported speech can vary based off context and can be even more confusing when the time gap changes. Overall it is best to go slow with this material and take quality time to practice it.
