After watching these 2 videos you cannot help but notice the contrast between the 2, in terms of the teacher's approach and the students' reaction to the lesson. The first video definitely showcases the mistakes made on the teacher's behalf, the manner in which he addresses his class sets off the pace for the rest of the lesson. It's obvious the students are discouraged and intimidated from the start. The 2nd lesson's approach was much more appreciated especially after watching the first video. It was easy to notice the nuances of smiling, knowing the students names and how this made a difference to the students' participation. I really enjoyed watching the teacher handle the class and take them through the different phases. The students seemed to have picked up the language point quicker compared to the first video lesson. They seemed more confident and willing to offer feedback in the second video. I have definitely learnt, from watching these 2 videos, the importance of having a positive approach as a teacher as well as a well-planned lesson plan. The teacher seemed very organized in the 2nd video and the phases seemed to flow easily from one to the other. I noticed the terminology used in the 2nd video was more simple and easier to understand as opposed to the first video.
