To be a good teacher you should be kind, patient, love teaching (so you can be lively & able to motivate). Be able to get the students involved, identify weaknesses and correct with offending.There are many roles a teacher can take my personal favorites are- model (my native ability) organizer (setting up activities) participant (getting involved in activities) and prompter (encouraging students to find the answers by pushing themselves. An experienced teacher will know when to use which role for what activities & addressed weaknesses. A good learner (student) has a strong desire to learn, is willing to ask, listen, experiment and accept criticism. There are many other factors that affect learning- age (very young learners to adults) learning experience, motivation, nervousness, language awareness, behavioral problems and life experience. there are two language level gauges, most common is (beginner-elementary-low/pre-intermediate-intermediate-upper intermediate followed by advanced) or the Common European Framework (A1,A2,B1,B2,C1 and C2). English students learn English for many various reasons mainly- For future career prospects, travel purposes, for English exam, to live in English speaking countries, communicate with friends,coworkers or partner, or simply out of interest.
