This was incredibly interesting and informative. It was surprising how much I had forgotten from school (and how much I learned from this unit!). Notes from Task 1: Countable Nouns: People, creatures and things that can be counted (a car, an egg, the table) Uncountable Nouns: Things that can't be counted (music, advice, rice, bread) Adjectives: Description of nouns such as people or things (big/small, dirty/clean) Adverb: Add meaning or information to the action (verb), quality or state donated by a verb. Adverbs of degree can also modify adjective (describing) or another adverb Gerunds: A gerund is the -ing form of a verb (doing/state) used as a noun. A gerund is used in the same way as a noun (object or subject) e.g. PLAYING tennis is fun Pronouns: Used instead/in place of more precise nouns or noun phrases - Personal: I, me, you, he, she, we, used - Possessive: mine, yours, his, hers, ours, theirs - Reflexive: myself, yourself, himself, itself - Relative: Who, which, that, whos Prepositions: Show the relationship between a noun or pronoun and some other word in the sentence (time/date[at, on, by before], Movement[from, to, in, through], Place/position[in, at, on, above]) Conjunctions: Join words or groups in a sentence (and, but, or, yet)and(as, before, because, although)
