Teach English in Qingfeng Zhen - Guigang Shi
In this lesson I learned about course development. There are five level descriptors that are used to determine a student?s English level. They are the starter stage, elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate, and the upper intermediate levels. At the beginning of every class, after the level testing has taken place, students should be given a needs analysis to see what it is they feel that ley need to learn or would like to learn and to find the areas of English they use of the most frequently and infrequently. This information, however, can be a bit difficult to implement depending on the employer, time constraints, and available resources. There are also many kinds of syllabi that teachers can use to structure their courses. These include the structural syllabus, the functional syllabus, the learner-led syllabus, the situational syllabus, the student syllabus, the material syllabus, and the organizational syllabus. The last three of that list are syllabi that have been even farther broken down for the teacher?s use. There are six kinds of tests that can be administered to students. These include a diagnostic test, placement test, aptitude, achievement, proficiency, and progress tests. CYLE has three levels of testing. They have the starters test, movers test, and flyers test.
