In this unit, it tacles another part of English grammar: the modals, phrasal verbs and passive voice. Modal verbs(helping verbs) are used in conjuction with main verb to express shades of time, mood and adds meaning to the sentence. Phrasal verbs consist of a verb pkus one or teo particle(might be a preposition or an adverb or an adverb plus preposition) and they operate as one item. There are three basic types of phrasal verbs: Intransitive(cannot be followed by a direct object), Transitive seperable(an object pronoun can only come between the verb and the particle, an object noun can come either between the verb and the particle or after the particle), Transitine inseperable(the object phrase or object pronoun both come after the particle). Passive voice have two voices in English: active voice(the focus is on the subject) and passive voice(the object of an active verb becomes the subject of the passive verb and the doer of the action doesn't appear). Also in this unit, relative clause have been discussed briefly. There are three categories of clauses:Independent clause(it contains the main subject and verb of a sentence), Dependent clause(must be connected to an independent clause) and Relative clause(is a deoendent clause that modifies a noun, it can also be referred to as an adjective clause).
