This unit covered the basics of the various past tense forms, and it also outlined their usages. First it covered the past simple form. The past simple form is used to describe an action that happened in a set time in the past. Usually with the verb you just add \"ed\" to the end of the word, but there are irregular forms that you and the students will just have to memorize. The second form that was explored was the past continuous form. The past continuous form is used to describe an action that was continuing to occur in the past. This form usually used \"was\" or \"were\" and the verb has \"ing\" attached to the ending. The third form that was covered was the past perfect form. The past perfect form is used to describe actions that were finished in the past. The sentences usually involve the word \"have\" and \"had\" along with a past simple form verb. The final tense that was covered was the past perfect continuous verb. This verb is used to describe and action that happened in the past, and continued until the present, and is not specified if it is still continuing. The sentences usually involve a \"had been\" and a past continuous verb form. The video section also included various activities I could have students participate in in order to improve their understanding of the past tense forms.
