Course development In this unit, we learn the ways to develop the course for students. Level Test: There are different level descriptors, used by different examinations. These tests are designed to show Person?s understanding level of English, to check which next level suits them. There are five level descriptions: Starter, Elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate, upper-intermediate. An analyst gets an idea of the student?s English level by his result. Syllabus design; Syllabus invites students to come and gain some kind of knowledge of a specific course for limited time period. The syllabus informs them the objectives of course and to provide a sense of what the course will be like and what will be they gain at the end. We can divide syllabus in different categories like structural syllabus, (based on grammar methods) functional-notional syllabus,( is based on learning to recognize and express the communicative functions of language and the concepts and ideas it expresses.) learner-led syllabus(This course syllabus helps students to learn, facilitate the development of higher-level thinking abilities, and prepare them for continued studies in the field) and situational syllabus. (based on some kind of situation rather than grammar.) Language is a component of culture, so the designers should relate the materials to the students' diverse cultural backgrounds to also include their prior experiences/reading/societal or global issues to make the content meaningful and interesting. Another dimension is the use of technology, particularly Social Media, as digital natives use it as their means of communication. An examination is a test to show the knowledge and ability of a student. A student who takes an examination is a candidate. The person who decides how well the student has performed is the examiner. An examination may be a written test, an on-screen test or a practical test. There are different types of exams. A student takes exam according to his requirement. Starters; designed for 7-year-olds with about 100 hours of study in the English language. Movers; designed for 8 years old to 11-year-old with about175 hours of study in the English language. Flyers; designed for 9-year-old to12-year-old with about 250 hours. In education an examination is a test to show the knowledge and ability of a student, it will evaluate the material and suggest improvements that you can make to it.
