From the unit 4, I have learn about the four present tense: The present simple, present continuous, present perfect and present perfect continuous. As a teacher, I need to understand the use of these tense, because most of the student get confused and do not understand how to use it. so here I would like to describe each tense and example of it. First is the present simple tense that talk about something true at indefinite moment, when giving direction and present stories or headlines. The form of the present tense is Subject+ base form + complement. in term of negative form, we just need to add 'do not or does not'. On the question form, we just put 'Do/does' before the sentence. For teaching ideas that I expect the students to produce are playing: asking daily routines, interview each other and guess my profession. Second is the present continuous tense, mostly are talk about the action that still happening (in progress). The form of present continuous tense is Subject + auxiliary verb 'be' (am, is, are) + verb + ing. for example; he is playing, they are not playing (negative form), is she playing? (question form). For teaching ideas while explain more in present continuous are: telling stories and describing pictures. Third is the present perfect tense, generally talk about past action which is true or with present result. The form of present prefect tense is Subject + auxiliary verb 'have or has'+ (not) + past principle. for example; I have eaten, she has not eaten (negative form), have I eaten? (question form). For teaching ideas, I would like the student to asking question : what have you done today? or maybe role-play in front of the class. Fourth is the present perfect continuous tense is relating the past action to the present. The form of present prefect continuous tense is Subject + auxiliary verb 'have or has'+ (not) + been + verb + ing. for example; I have been playing cellphone, she has been eating foods (negative form), have they been eating foods? (question form). For teaching ideas, I would like the student to take a survey or telling stories in front of the class. The use of these tenses are for explaining the student how to use in the sentence and how to form the good sentence. It will require a lot of practice by giving more examples and state the difference between each of the tense. Hopefully by the time of the semester end, Students will recognize and use it in way of speaking and writing.
