In unit 13 we covered teaching pronunciation and phonology. Until this lesson I did not know there was a phonetic script that you could use to teach and learn how to speak a language. I found this very useful when explaining certain sounds and helping people new to the language learn and master the pronunciation by simply using the script.This unit outlines some problems TEFL teachers may face with regard to certain aspects of the class and how to go about rectifying them. Not all situations have a textbook solution, and the main thing I've learned from this is to be responsive to the needs of the class. Cater to what you have, and work with your students, not against them.
