Unit eleven talks about the receptive skills, reading and listening, and skills a person employs while reading/listening. It underlines the importance of these skills and outlines some practical methods for teaching them. In addition, this unit provides some tips for an effective teaching, as well as an example of a receptive skill lesson.I like how these lessons focus on student engagement and making the lessons fun and engaging for the students. Many language classes that I have seen have not had these approaches and have been rather boring, but I believe that incorporating the Engage and Activate parts, the classes will be more fun for both the teacher and the students.
