This unit covers the reasons and techniques used for teaching the receptive skills of listening and reading. I have learned that how students read and listen is the basis for successful teaching and learning. Teachers should carefully select language, vocabulary, texts, topics, level of interest, and tasks for each receptive skills lesson.After this unit i am able to understand the patterns between present and past tenses. Also, i learnt what are the usages of each past tense in a clear a concise way, particularly the past perfect continuous tense. I learnt how to identify common student mistakes and errors and how to include the tenses in the activate phase of the lesson.
