Unit 18 discusses Modals, Phrasal Verbs and Passive Voice. It teaches Grammar, Basic Rules (Obligation, Possibility/Probability, Permission/Prohibition, Ability/Advice), teaching ideas, Active/Passive voices, usage, relative clauses, and Intransitive and Transitive Separable and Inseparable Verbs. It also discusses what a good grammar reference book should have in it.From this unit,I have reviewed the conditionals and the reported speech. The teaching ideas are very useful in class. When teaching conditionals, we can use split sentences, chain conditionals and Nuclear bunker role play. When teaching reported speech, we can use intermediaries, reporting verbs and media interviews. Those are all helpful for me in my language teaching.
