In my own teaching experience, I have rarely relied much on course books so I tend to agree that every class should at least be supplemented with materials developed by teachers for the specific needs of the students. Additionally, I like the idea of using magazine pictures to encourage students to come up with stories about the relationship of people to certain objects.In this unit, i have learnt about four pieces of grammar which are modal auxiliary verbs, passive voice, relative clauses and phrasal verbs. They are not so easy to teach and also to learn in particular the phrasal verbs. In regard to the passive voice, it is quite interesting and i think with the right activities, students may pick it up with not so much difficulties.
