I recommend choosing better wording in these sample sentences because this unit was unnecessarily tricky. Most of the unit sentences are passive voice which makes it difficult to identify answers regarding questions to other types of syntax. I feel these were poor word choices for these sentences. For example, instead of saying, \"the plane took off...\" use, \"the plane left...\" and answers for question 11; Peter had a car accident yesterday. Mary was attacked yesterday. Rice is grown in Vietnam. The job will be completed by next week, these all sound like passive voice. Modals are used before action verbs to express certainty, intention, command and emphasis. They are followed by a verb because they can't stand alone. This unit also talks about passive voice, which conveys a similar message as active voice but the focus is different. The passive voice focuses less on the agent or 'doer' of the action, whereas, active voice focuses on the agent. Active voice sentences use a subject and verb at the beginning of the sentence showing clearly who is doing the action. Intransitive versus transitive verbs are different in that, transitive verbs require an object that is being effected by the verb. Intransitive verbs don't need a target object, it can stand alone with the subject or 'doer' of the verb.
